What is baptism all about? The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the First step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized. Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked? About Baptism in Water Water baptism is an individual’s expression of their relationship with Christ. Baptism symbolizes cleansing from sin and identification with Jesus. It is an outward expression of what Christ does inside a person’s heart. Baptism happens subsequent to salvation but is not required for salvation.  Matthew 28:19; 3:6; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4 About the Baptism of the Holy Spirit All believers are entitled and should expect and seek the promise of the Father, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This was a normal experience of all the early Christian church and is for the church today. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of salvation.
